The Blusher Edit

Hi pretties! 🌸
Blushers are one of my all-time favourite face products (apart from loose powder for obvious reasons). Whether matte or shimmery, drug-store or luxury, they give that little flush of life to your cheeks. You don’t need a dozen shades. Here are my favourites (yes, some splurge-worthy, some budget-friendly) and why they still bring me joy.

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Beauty Soulmates Face Palette

The whole palette is a sweet heart-shaped package, with a blush and a setting powder in one. Great for travel or when you want a coordinated look—all in one. The jewel-accent detail on the palette adds a little luxe to everyday.

Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Powder Blush in Pillow Talk

Classic for a reason. A nude-pink blush has a built-in highlighter circle in the centre. It gives a subtle lift and glow without being over the top.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed

One of my go-tos for effortless colour. ‘Exposed’ is a beautiful nude mauve. It provides just enough colour to look like “I’m awake, I’m alive.” It does this without yelling “LOOK AT MY CHEEKS.”

Gucci Luminous Matte Powder Blush in Rosy Beige

This is a splurge but worth it if you want something elevated. The packaging is dreamy, and the shade work-appropriate yet glamorous.

YSL Beauty Make Me Blush 24 Hour Buildable Powder Blush in Nude Lavalliere

Another luxe pick is dusty satin pink. It is buildable. It works well when I want my cheeks to hold their own for a long work-day. It is also great for an evening out.

Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Luminous Powder Blush in Hope

I love this because of both formula and packaging (especially as someone who struggles with tricky lids!). The nude-mauve shade is easy to wear and delivers a soft luminous finish.

SushyGlow Love Note Blush

A more unique pick: deep red matte blush that looks like a juicy “bloody-lip” tint on the cheeks. It is fun and bold. It’s perfect for when you want your blush to make a statement. It’s not just “oh good I didn’t forget my cheeks”.

Milani Powder Blush in Romantic Rose

My long-time drug-store favourite. Affordable, beautiful in formula, and that rose-nude shade has stuck with me through seasons. For the price, it’s a standout.

Essence The Blush

Budget blush that doesn’t look (or feel) budget. At around $4, the satin finish and blendability are impressive and ideal for everyday.

Colourpop Heart Blush

Cute packaging + matte formula = irresistible. My shades: ‘Flirt Alert’ (dusty mauve) and ‘Kiss n’ Tell’ (warm nude pink). Fun for layering or when flatlays matter.

How I Use Them

For everyday: I pick a nude or muted mauve (Tarte ‘Exposed’, Essence) and apply lightly with my fingers or a fluff brush for softness.

For “complimentary” colour: when my outfit or makeup is warm-toned, I’ll lean into the rose or nude-pink shades (Milani, Colourpop).

For glow & evenings: choose something with subtle shimmer or satin finish, such as Charlotte Tilbury or Rare Beauty. Apply it a tad more generously. You may layer a highlighter after if you’re going full glam.

For a statement blush: SushyGlow’s deep red matte? That’s for when I want my cheeks to feel bold. It is like saying, “Yes, I’m wearing blush and yes, you’re going to notice.”

Flatlays & content: I love staging the product. I add a swatch, my face, and props like ribbons and neutral backgrounds. These elements match my “cozy-beautiful” blog tone.

Why This List Matters

Because, dear reader: you don’t need 50 different blushes to look polished and feel confident. What you do need is:

  • A few good shades that suit your tone and lifestyle
  • Diversity in finish (matte vs shimmer) so you have options
  • A mix of price-points so you can prioritise where it matters for you
  • Products you love to reach for. When you enjoy using them, you’ll use them more. Your content reflects that joy.
