The Highlighter Edit

Hi pretties! ✨
Highlighter isn’t something I reach for all the time. Thanks to my oily skin, I naturally have a bit of a sheen. So the idea of layering more shimmer felt unnecessary. That said, there are a few special highlighters I love. Today, I’m sharing the ones I’ve kept in my “highlighting-to-reach-for” edit.

Fenty Beauty Kilowatt Freestyle Highlighter

I’ve had this duo for a while and still reach for it when I want serious glow. The Lightning Dust side offers a champagne-shimmer finish. It looks beautiful in daylight. The Fire Crystal side brings the sparkle for more playful looks. It’s bold, fun, and totally my vibe when I want to shine.

💫 Why I love it: One palette gives me subtle glow and full sparkle.

Too Faced Diamond Light Highlighter in Diamond Fire

This one has been discontinued, but it remains a sentimental favorite. The shade Diamond Fire is essentially a gorgeous iridescent white that shifts between blue, green, purple and pink. The packaging alone is a coquette-dream: pink ring-box style and ultra pretty on the vanity.

💫 Why I love it: A nostalgic favorite with serious sparkle and cute packaging.

Too Faced Moon Crush Highlighter Powder

Another beautiful piece from Too Faced: the baby pink packaging and heart-clasp detail made me fall in love instantly. The shade Shooting Star is a pale champagne; the shimmer is intense but elegant. For those days when I want glow without going over the top.

💫 Why I love it: It brings luxe shimmer in a dreamy and feminine shell.

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Multi-Glow Highlighter

Though discontinued now, this one’s a classic I’m grateful to own. The packaging was rose-gold and quilted. The actual shade Romantic Light is a beautiful mix of pink, rose-gold and champagne tones. It gives a soft, lit-from-within glow that’s my go-to for content days.

💫 Why I love it: Elegant, soft, and perfect for that romantic glow.

lilybyred Luv Beam Glow Veil

A newer-to-me brand, and this little highlighter caught my eye for its heart-shaped packaging (totally coquette friendly!). The shade Sun Beam is a pale gold that adds just a hint of warmth and shimmer. Great for more subtle glow days.

💫 Why I love it: Affordable, cute packaging, and very wearable.

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Glow Glide in Pillow Talk Glow

The packaging is luxurious gold with stars and the CT logo—so good. The shade Pillow Talk Glow is a pearly pink that glides on effortlessly. It’s ideal when I want to highlight cheekbones or use it as a subtle all-over glow.

💫 Why I love it: Luxe finish + easy application = win.

Rare Beauty Positive Light Silky Touch Powder Highlighter in Mesmerize

Simple, sleek, minimal packaging (love!) and the shade Mesmerize is a rose-bronze that works beautifully on my skin tone. The texture is soft, smooth and blends seamlessly.

💫 Why I love it: Minimalist packaging with high performance.

Essence Pure Nude Highlighter

If you’re looking for budget-friendly with solid payoff, this is it. The Pure Nude Highlighter gives a soft glow – not too glittery, just a nice sheen. I keep this one for everyday when I don’t want full glam but still want to feel polished.

💫 Why I love it: Affordable pick that delivers subtle glow.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade

Another softer option—my shade Lightscapade is a candlelit beige that gives a gentle highlight without being overly shimmer-heavy. Great for work days or when I want something wearable and elegant.

💫 Why I love it: Balanced glow that suits everyday wear.

Why This Edit Works for Me

Because these are highlighters I’ll actually reach for—not just ones I keep for “special occasions.” They span all moods: bold and sparkly, soft and subtle, budget-friendly and luxury. They match my aesthetic (romantic, soft, coquette-inspired) and my lifestyle (content days, everyday wear, minimalist moments).

At the end of the day, the perfect highlighter is the one you’ll use—and love.
