Hi pretties!
Summer is an especially tricky time when it comes to shoes for me. I’m a boot girl through and through. Those chunky, enclosed styles aren’t always built for the heat. But over the years I’ve landed on a handful of summer-friendly shoes that combine comfort, style and ease. These are the pairs I reach for again and again. I wear them when the sun’s out and my day is full.

My Top Summer Shoe Picks & Why I Love Them

Adidas Superstar Sneaker

White, classic, surprisingly breathable — these remain one of my favourite sneakers for summer. They still support walking heavy days. Because they’re light, my feet don’t feel like they’re in a heat trap.

Why I love them: Easy white sneaker, doesn’t ruin most outfits, both comfy and polished.

Vans Old Skool Sneakers

These bring me right back to high school-era nostalgia, but in the best possible way now. I love having them in variations (like checkerboard or slip-ons) and they’re timeless enough to go with almost everything.

Why I love them: Casual, cool, comfortable — and they make even a dress feel relaxed.

Converse Low Tops

Lightweight, easy to pair, and perfect when I want casual but intentional footwear. I love that they give an edge to something feminine or soften something dressy.

Why I love them: Versatile, comfy, goes from day to night easily.

Bobo’s House Shoes

A newer discovery for me: Bobo’s House isn’t too chunky and still feels wearable. I love their cute designs without sacrificing foot-proportion or comfort.

Why I love them: Fun without being overwhelming — a sweet summer option.

Toms Alpargata Loafers

When I want something ventilated and easy, these are it. They slip on, breathe well, and look chic enough for a variety of occasions (including more casual workplaces).

Why I love them: Breathable, easy, stylish — and one of those pairs that “just works”.

Sperry Boat Shoes

Once I thought these were too preppy for me — turns out they’re just exactly right. Leather, durable, summer-appropriate (even for beach or casual days).

Why I love them: A great investment, holds up well, fills a summer niche I didn’t realize I needed.

mysoft Platform Sandals

When the mood calls for something more open and elevated, these sandals deliver. Surprisingly comfortable despite the height, I’ve walked miles in them and my feet didn’t complain.

Why I love them: Comfort meets style — perfect for when I still want height but not pain.

How I Style These Shoes for Summer

  • Everyday Wear: White Superstar or Converse + midi skirt + light knit or tee + minimal jewellery.
  • Casual Outing: Vans or Toms + breezy dress or tailored shorts + tote bag.
  • Travel Day: Sperry or Mysoft sandals + relaxed trousers + lightweight top + cross-body bag.
  • Content / Photo Ready: Choose the shoe based on outfit tone. Wear platform sandals with a dress. Pair Vans with a monochrome denim look. Consider lighting and ease.

Final Thoughts

Finding the right summer shoes is less about chasing the trend. It is more about honoring what your feet need: comfort, breathability, and timeless style. The pairs I’ve listed here aren’t “just for summer.” They are the shoes I continue to grab year after year when the warm weather hits. They serve me in travel, walks, shoots, errands and everything in between.

So if you’re hunting for summer shoe favorites that feel like you, these picks might just be the start.
