Today, I’m sharing something a little different. It’s a brand that’s all about simplicity. It offers convenience and beauty that fits your real life. Meet Subtl Beauty, a minimalist makeup brand that believes looking polished shouldn’t require hauling your entire vanity around.

Subtl Beauty is a brand built around one clever concept. The Stak is a stackable tower of customizable makeup trays. These trays twist together neatly, so you can build your perfect set of essentials. Whether you’re traveling or on the go, the Subtl Stak promises to make beauty simple again. It is also ideal if you just want to streamline your routine.
As the brand describes it:
“Makeup has always promised fantasy. But isn’t it time it dealt with reality? The Subtl Stak was designed for the way real people really wear it. It is meant for the good days and the not-so-good ones. It can be worn wherever life happens.”
The founder, Rachel Reid, launched Subtl in 2019 after a relatable “what’s in my bag?” moment — packing an overnight bag that turned into an overflowing pile of beauty products. Her lightbulb idea? Develop a system that fits everything you need into one compact stack. This system includes bronzer, blush, lip balm, and more.
As Rachel puts it:
“Whether you’re a beauty vet or newbie, I created Subtl to give your vanity a healthy dose of sanity. It is designed for use on the go, in the car, at the gym, or bedside. There’s simply no downside.”
My Subtl Beauty Stack
I love products that combine functionality with thoughtful design, and Subtl Beauty truly nailed that balance. I built a custom 8-piece stack that includes a mix of powder and cream products, plus all the essentials I’d need for travel or a quick everyday look.
Here’s what’s in my Stak!
Mirror Lid, Base, & Brush
These two pieces are the foundation of my stack — literally!
The Mirror Lid sits on top. It also doubles as a compact mirror, which is perfect for touch-ups. The Brush Base sits at the bottom. It includes a small half-moon brush that’s surprisingly soft and handy for on-the-go blending.
Together, they make the stack feel complete and travel-ready — no extra tools required.
Bronzer in Latte
I’ll admit, I was a little skeptical at first — I assumed Subtl’s products might cater more toward cream-product lovers. The brand actually offers several powder formulas. This Bronzer in Latte turned out to be one of my favorites.
It’s a flattering, buildable bronzer for light skin tones — warm without being orange, soft without being muddy. The finish is natural and easy to blend, giving that soft sun-kissed glow without any fuss.
Blush in Blossom Bound
The Blush in Blossom Bound is a cool mauve shade that adds the prettiest flush to the cheeks. It’s matte, blendable, and buildable — great for days when I want that “soft from within” blush look.
The formula feels smooth and never patchy, and it layers beautifully with both the bronzer and highlight.
Highlighter in Champagne
This Powder Highlighter in Champagne delivers a gentle, candlelit glow that’s subtle yet noticeable. It’s beige-toned rather than icy, which makes it perfect for those of us who prefer a more natural highlight.
The powder is one of those “no wrong time” products. It’s perfect for everyday wear. I love it for when I want that soft glow without looking shiny.
Shine Control Powder
The Shine Control Powder might be my favorite item in the stack. It tones down shine beautifully without flattening the complexion.
I use it to set my T-zone, and it keeps everything looking fresh and soft rather than overly matte. It’s compact, reliable, and exactly what I want from a pressed powder.
Lip Balm in Original
This unflavored Lip Balm is a simple staple, and I love it for that reason. I prefer unflavored, untinted lip balms for nighttime or travel, and this one fits perfectly into my Subtl stack.
It’s hydrating, smooth, and great for those moments when I just need a touch of moisture without any color.
Lip Glaze in Iconic
The Lip Glaze in Iconic is a glossy tint that adds a soft wash of neutral pink to the lips. The formula feels creamy and comfortable. It is more hydrating than a typical gloss. It also has enough shine to elevate any look.
It’s that perfect “my lips but better” shade, and it ties the whole stack together beautifully.
Eyeshadow Duo in shade Jelly
The last layer of my stack is the Eyeshadow Duo in Jelly. This duo includes a pinky-brown matte. It also features a pale shimmery pink.
The formula is crease-proof, smooth, and super wearable. I love its compactness, yet it doesn’t sacrifice quality. The shades blend effortlessly for an everyday neutral or soft romantic look.
Final Thoughts
After testing Subtl Beauty, I can confidently say this little stack is a game-changer for travel and everyday life. Everything twists neatly together. It becomes incredibly easy to pack and find exactly what you need. You won’t need to dig through your makeup bag or worry about bulky compacts.
It’s organized, portable, and beautifully minimal. I know I’ll be reaching for this stack every time I travel or need a low-maintenance routine.
