Hi pretties! I’ve had my Oura Heritage ring for almost a year, and I thought I’d share how I like it so far! I decided to get one as an easier method to track my health. As much as I love my Apple Watch, I can’t trust myself to remember it (a tough reminder from when I accidentally left my series 9 in Ottawa).
About the Oura Ring
The Oura Ring is a smart ring that allows people to track their health statistics. They can measure everything from sleep to exercise. The ring can even track your period as they have partnered with Natural Cycles.
The ring comes in Gen 4 (available in silver, black, brushed silver, stealth, rose gold, and gold) and Gen 3. The Gen 3 ring comes in two styles. The Heritage style, which I have, has a classic plateau design. The top of the ring is flat, making it easy to see if you have it on accurately. The Horizon style is similar to the Gen 4 rings. The Heritage ring comes in 4 finishes: silver, black, stealth, and gold. The Horizon style comes in silver, black, brushed titanium, stealth, gold, and rose gold.
What it tracks…
The ring tracks several biometric statistics.
Sleep
The ring can track your sleep score (how well you slept the previous night). It can also track the stages of sleep, blood oxygen level, and even has bedtime guidance to help you unwind. The ring can automatically track naps as well, which takes about 15 minutes.

Activity and Fitness
The ring can also detect your activity and fitness. It can automatically detect exercise and gives you an activity score. It also can provide personalized activity recommendations. Below is an example of my activity from when I went to Boston.
Readiness
The ring can record and determine your readiness state. Your readiness score is how well your body can adapt to change or exercise. It combines resting heart rate, heart rate variance factor, sleep, and body temperature to determine how ready you are for stress. The Oura ring can even detect when you are getting sick, which is one of the cooler features it has.
As you can see by my stats, I’m constantly always a little bit unready, but that is due to other health issues.
Stress
The ring can track daytime stress. Stress is defined as physiological factors that contribute to your body’s ability to recover.

Women’s health
The ring can lastly track women’s health, particularly your periods. It also tells you when you are able to conceive (if you are trying for a family).
Thoughts
Overall, I love the Oura ring. It’s an easy way to track your health, and because I constantly wear it, there is a lesser chance of me losing it than my Apple Watch. It also works on any finger, although Oura recommends wearing it on your index finger. Unlike an Apple Watch, you don’t need to charge the ring every day. Mine lasts or about 4-5 days before I need to charge it, making it a handy little tracking device.
