Hi pretties! I don’t often reach for face products when it comes to beauty. A lot of products today tend to lean towards cream products and as an oily-skinned gal, cream products simply don’t work for me. However, I’ve found a few favorites.
Face palettes
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Beautifying Face Palette
This little number from Charlotte Tilbury is one of my favorite face products of all time. It comes with a matte blush, a shimmery blush, a. bronzer, and a highlighter. This product can even be used on the eyes as an eyeshadow. I love how much use that this comes with, and I often take it traveling with me because it’s just that easy.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette
This palette has sadly been discontinued for newer versions of the Ambient Lighting Palette, but I also quite like this little number from Hourglass. It’s one of my favorite face products and contains 6 powders: a Strobe Highlighter, a Strobe Blush, a Strobe Bronzer, a regular Ambient Lighting Blush, an Ambient Lighting Bronzer, and an Ambient Lighting Powder. This can also be a multi-use palette, much like the Charlotte Tilbury palette.
Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow
The Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow is a convenient little duo that features a bronzer and a highlighter. This is meant for sculpting and contouring, but I prefer it for a light glow during the colder months. I love the highlighter in it as well, and the packaging is such a beautiful rose gold.

Blush and Bronzer
Essence Sun Club Matte Bronzing Powder
I much prefer matte bronzers over shimmery ones. I don’t want to look like a super tan disco ball when all I want to do is add some color to my face. The Essence Sun Club Matte Bronzing Powder is the perfect drugstore matte bronzer for that. It doesn’t lean too orange, and it’s affordable at only $4.50 per product.
Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic
The Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic blush is a subtle, shimmery blush that looks neutral. I love how the shimmer is so subtle that it looks basically matte and neutral. I have the shade Pillow Talk which is a beautiful neutral pink. The blush comes with a matte neutral pink blush with a circle of highlighter in its center, giving it a rather raunchy and unique appearance, but despite this, it’s a great blush to have.
Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush
The Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush has been one of my favorite face products, and my favorite blushes for a long time. Having tried it back in 2016-2017, I love how it’s matte and silky. It also lasts all day on my oily skin. I got the shade Exposed, which is my favorite shade from the line. Exposed is a beautiful neutral mauve blush that looks great on pale to light skin.
Gucci Luminous Matte Beauty Blush
I’ll admit, the packaging did get me on this Gucci blush, but it has become my favorite face products. I love how silky and smooth the blush is, and you don’t need to pile on a lot of it for it to make a statement. I have the shade Rosy Beige, which is a muted neutral pink that appears darker than it really is.
Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Luminizing Powder Blush
This is the second shimmery blush featured in this article, but one of the few that I love. I normally don’t go for shimmery blushes because I’m already oily. I don’t need to make it look like I dipped my face in glazed donut sauce. However, this blush has such a beautiful application to it. It glides on super smooth, and doesn’t look too shimmery. In fact, it gives off a “glow from within” kind of look. I have the shade Hope, which is a neutral pink
Flower Knows Strawberry Rococo Embossed Blush
I love Flower Knows as a company. They make the prettiest makeup products. Their Strawberry Rococo collection was no different. I love the cute little strawberry packaging, and the fact that they divided it into the original Strawberry Rococo line and a violet colored Strawberry Rococo line made it unique. These cute little blushes have the most gorgeous packaging. It almost reminds me of a music box. I have the shades Classic Ballet, a neutral pink, Romantic Blossom, a bright pink, and Little Cranberry, which is a more mauve-toned blush.
Milani Rose Powder Blush
The Milani Rose Powder Blush is one of my favorite drugstore blushes of all time. I love how they are matte, yet give a nice little wash of color. The rose embossing on the product itself is also a lovely touch. have the shade Romantic Rose, a neutral mauve shade.

Highlighters
Too Faced Diamond Light Highlighter
I had to search up and down the internet for this lovely little highlighter because it has been sadly discontinued by Too Faced. I eventually got one, and I love it. The packaging looks like a little ring box, and the product itself looks like a faceted gem. I have it in the shade Diamond Fire, which is an iridescent purple-blue-pale champagne highlighter.
MAC Cosmetics Mineralize Skinfinish
I’ve always loved the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish. It reminds me of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders, but at a cheaper price. The Mineralize Skinfinish givers a lovely subtle glow, which is what I need. I have the shade Lightscapade, which is a soft beige.
Fenty Beauty Kilowatt Highlighter
The Fenty Beauty Kilowatt Highlighter is a beautiful highlighter. I really love how instead of the usual circular packaging, Rihanna decided to make the packaging into an octagon shape. The highlighters aren’t too flashy, and they’re buttery soft. I have the shade Lighting Dust/Fire Crystal, which is a duo consisting of a soft champagne pearlescence and a soft copper highlighter.
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Multi Glow
The Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Multi Glow is a discontinued product, but it’s the most beautiful, princess-y product I’ve ever seen from her. The packaging is a soft pink that shines blue and green in the light. The product itself is multicolored, having shades of pink, beige, and champagne. Although discontinued, I will hold on to this product because it’s such a beautiful highlighter.
Charlotte Tilbury Glow Guide Architect Highlighter
This is probably the most stunning highlighter I’ve ever laid eyes on. I particularly lobe the stars etched in the product. The Charlotte Tilbury Glow Guide highlighter is a smooth, buttery highlighter that can be layered to add more shimmer, but without being too overwhelming. I have the shade Pillow Talk Glow, which is a beautiful natural pink.
Too Faced Moon Crush Highlighter
The Too Faced Moon Crush Highlighter is yet another high end highlighter that I love. It comes in cute pink packaging and has the name of the product embossed on it as well. I love using highlighters for one-wash eyeshadows, so this would make the perfect one for me. Aside from being a good one-wash shadow, I also would wear this on my cheekbones as a light one-wash layer over a matte blush. I have the shade Shooting Star, which is a gorgeous golden champagne.
Rare Beauty Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter
Rare Beauty is a unique brand in that Selena designed it with herself in mind- she has lupus that affects her joints, so sometimes opening things is difficult for her. I love how she made the Rare Beauty highlighter a simple product- just slap it on and go. It can even be applied with the fingers, so there is no need to faff around with a brush. I have the shade Mesmerize, which is a rosy light bronze.
Essence Pure Nude Highlighter
The Essence Pure Nude Highlighter is my favorite drugstore highlighter of all time. It is subtle and reminds me of the Mac Mineralize Skinfinish. I love how subtle this is, so you could layer this up with no problem.
Foundation and Powder
Laura Mercier Translucent Powder
If there is any product I would repurchase again and again, it’s definitely the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder. It’s one of the only powders I’ve tried that doesn’t dry out my skin, doesn’t make me feel chalky, and it absorbs my oil for hours. It’s so good I would even dare to call it one of my holy grail products.
Clio Kill Cover High Glow Cushion
I bought this product for days when I don’t want medium to heavy coverage. I am trying to grow comfortable in my own skin as to stop relying on full coverage foundations to cover up my ice pick scars. This cushion is quite comfortable, and cushion foundations blend better into the skin.
