Hi pretties! The old money aesthetic is booming on social media. Tailored clothes, simple accessories, and just that overall put-together look. Of course, very few people in the world have access to actual old money. Here is how to get the old money aesthetic on a budget!

No logos

One thing I have noticed about the old money aesthetic is that there are no logos showing anywhere. If there is a logo, it’s very small and in an inconspicuous place. That means no Gucci, no Michael Kors or Kate Spade for the aesthetic. This is perfect. Many clothing items from stores like H&M, Cotton On, Zara, ASOS, or even Amazon don’t come with logos. It’s very easy to replicate the look with high street pieces. Also, like I have mentioned before, if you are wearing a logo, you are basically advertising the brand for free.

Tailored clothing

Most people are afraid to bring their clothes into the tailor to get altered. I can see why. From a typical perspective, tailoring and altering is only for people who have clothing from expensive brands. That is not the case at all! You can get any piece of clothing tailored for a cheap price. Alterations are affordable, especially if it’s not from a fancy brand. There are even tutorials on how to tailor or alter clothing yourself.

Simple and dainty jewelry

When it comes to the old money aesthetic, you will notice not one person has chunky jewelry. They all have simple, sometimes dainty pieces. The simple, dainty pieces are popular because they scream elegance. Jewelry is often the missing piece in many of my outfits. Having simple, plain pieces is the way to go for me.

Simple accessories

When it comes to the old money aesthetic, many people ditch the branded belts for something more simple. A good simple belt with gold hardware always does the trick. You won’t see someone who loves the old money aesthetic boasting a Gucci belt. As aforementioned, having logos is not part of the aesthetic.

Linen or linen-like material in the summer and warmer months

One way to definitely get that old money aesthetic is to get some linen clothing for the warmer months. Linen is a popular fabric for this aesthetic during the warmer months. It is lightweight and cools you off. I especially love linen pants and linen dresses, because they are cooling.
