Hi pretties! Over the years, I’ve slowly learned and dressed for my personal style. I think finding your own style is important when it comes to fashion. Every person is unique, and that means we all have different styles. Here are the ins and outs of my own personal style!

Sweatpants are in, jeans are out

I’ve admittedly never been a fan of jeans. I have bought skinny jeans in the past just to wear to my retail job, but quickly found out how uncomfortable they were and quickly donated them. To me, jeans feel quite scratchy, and when I wear skinny jeans, I feel like my legs are being squeezed. I much prefer comfier bottoms such as sweatpants and jogger pants.

Loose fitting clothes are in, tight clothing is out

As a neurodivergent person, tight clothes are definitely very uncomfortable for me. It feels like my clothes are trying to strangle me, if I’m being honest. Loose fitting clothes are my preference. This may be a little TMI, but I love going out without a bra on, and a large cotton T-shirt definitely helps me achieve that. Loose clothing is also why I prefer sweatpants, linen pants, pajama pants, jumpsuits, and flared dresses. I hate clothing such as tube tops, tight bras, tight little tops, bodycon dresses, and anything of that sort. I am also quite self-conscious of my body and feel like tight fitting clothes reveal features that should be hidden.

Sneakers are in, high heels are out

I’ve never been much of a high heel girl. They’re just not part of my personal style. I feel like every time I wear high heels, I am at risk of tripping and falling. That’s why I much prefer shoes such as sneakers, boots, and basically any flat shoes. I can tolerate heels if they are blocky enough and are not more than 3-4 inches. Unfortunately, that means most “girly” style shoes I see on other girls, such as stilettos, are out of the question.

Backpacks are in, purses are out

Don’t get me wrong, I still love a good, cute purse. However, I am one of those people who tends to carry a lot of things with them daily, so a backpack is a practical choice for me. I love tote bags too, but I quickly found out that they make my shoulders hurt, and tend to make me look more lopsided than I already am. I do love a good canvas bag as well for groceries, and for toting around things like notebooks and pencils.

Midis are in, minis are out

Over the years, I’ve found myself quite drawn to midi style dresses and skirts. I love that they don’t expose too much, but leave a bit of skin. I absolutely loathe wearing mini dresses and mini skirts. The reason why I dislike wearing those so much is because I don’t want to worry about my bum showing or accidentally showing my unmentionables to the world. I know there are several ways to combat that, such as wearing shorts underneath a short dress or skirt. However, on warmer days, that can be a problem as I can easily get too hot and overwhelmed.
