Hi pretties! Self-care usually means spending money when it comes to social media. This doesn’t always have to cost money. Here are 10 free self-care ideas. Check these out if you’re looking to save some money. They are also perfect if you’re on a low or no buy!

Going for a walk

Going for a walk is probably the freest self-care activity. You don’t have to pay to get up and use your legs. You’d also be getting some exercise in as well. This is a good choice for people who despise going to the gym, like me. Walking is one of my favorite free self-care ideas because you get to do so many things while walking. For example, you can talk to your partner, listen to podcasts, and meet your neighbors.

Reading your favorite book

Reading your favorite book is a great free self-care idea. You already spent money on the book. It can is a physical copy or a Kindle/Nook copy. So why not sit back and enjoy that read? Of course, you don’t have to read your favorite book. You can read another book you’ve been wanting to catch up on, or even start.

Getting organized

Getting organized is another one of my favorite free self-care ideas. The only thing this requires is some organization tools like bins, boxes, or even shelves. Being organized is such a great feeling, and that’s why it’s one of my favorite forms of self-care. Nothing says taking care of yourself better than cleaning before a vacation, organizing your space during the weekends, etc.

Running a bath/having an everything shower

Another great free self-care idea is running a bath or having an everything shower. Everyone has some shower or bath things they need to use up. You can use up all the potions in your bathroom closet. They can be bath bombs, shower steamers, or even just a fancy little shower or bath treat. Using these items is a great way to use up what you have. It also creates a relaxing experience.

Having an at-home spa day

Having an at-home spa day is a great free self-care idea. If you’re anything like me, you have a lot of leftover skincare from your beauty blogger days. There’s no better way to use up all that stuff than have a pamper night at home. Break out the sheet masks, the serums, and whatnot and go to town.

Drinking plenty of water or fluids

This is such an important and free self-care idea. Drinking enough water is so important. I know if I don’t drink enough water, I’ll start getting tension headaches. These can quickly turn into very painful migraines. To combat this, I make sure to drink plenty of water. I also make sure to put in some electrolyte packets at that time of the month. This helps replenish lost fluids faster.

Making your favorite meal/dessert

One excellent way to decompress is making your favorite meal or dessert. I’ve always wanted to try baking, and it looks very relaxing. You don’t have to spend a single dime, except for food which is already a necessity.

Journaling

Journaling doesn’t have to cost money. There are tons of free ways to start a journal. You can use an old, empty notebook. Alternatively, try digital journaling in your Notes app or even Notion.

Creating or listening to a favorite playlist

Creating or listening to a favorite playlist is one of my favorite free self-care ideas. If you’re like me and like downloading music onto your iPhone, it can be completely free. Otherwise, the only cost you’ll have to pay for this activity is your Apple Music or Spotify subscription.

Gardening or any other favorite outdoor activity

The last free self-care idea is gardening, or any other favorite outdoor activity. Having a garden can bring a feeling of peace. It doesn’t matter if it’s in your backyard or a small indoor one. Having something green in the house makes me feel much calmer and better.
